How it works
Our tutoring is led by students who understand the subjects, exams and challenges you are currently facing. Each session is adapted to the student’s individual goals, whether they need regular support, exam preparation or help with a specific topic.
STUDENT-LED SUPPORT
We are students who or are currently studying, the same subjects and curricula as you. Because we have experienced similar lessons, assignments and exams ourselves, we understand where students commonly struggle and which explanations are most useful.
This makes tutoring feel more approachable and relatable. You can ask questions without feeling embarrassed, work at your own pace and receive practical advice from someone who genuinely understands what you are going through.
PERSONALISED SESSIONS
No two students learn in exactly the same way, so every tutoring session is adapted to the individual student. Before beginning, we discuss which subjects, topics or skills require the most attention and what you would like to achieve.
Sessions may focus on understanding difficult concepts, completing homework, reviewing class material, developing study techniques or preparing for an upcoming test or examination. We can also adjust our explanations, examples and pace until you feel confident with the topic.
ONLINE OR IN PERSON
Tutoring can take place online or in person, depending on the preferences, location and availability. Online sessions provide greater flexibility and can include screen sharing, digital notes and online learning resources.
In-person sessions can be arranged at a suitable and agreed location, such as the school or at home. The tutor and family decide together which format is most comfortable and effective for the student. Some tutors may offer both options, allowing families to choose what works best for them.
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING
Each tutor’s profile shows their general weekly availability, allowing you to find someone whose schedule fits you best. Once a suitable tutor has been chosen, the family can contact them directly to confirm the exact day, time and expected length of the session.
Tutoring can be arranged as a regular weekly lesson or booked only when additional help is needed. This gives students the flexibility to receive ongoing support, prepare for a particular examination or schedule an extra session before an important deadline.
Flexible payment options
For in-person tutoring, families can choose to pay by cash or card. Payment arrangements are confirmed with the tutor before the lesson, and Peerly does not charge a platform commission on in-person sessions.
Online lessons are booked and paid for securely by card through Peerly. The complete lesson price is always displayed before the booking is confirmed, with no unexpected charges added afterwards.
